When the majority of the world's population turns from human beings to zombies, the survivors must do what they can to live another day. Rick Grimes transforms from a small town police officer into a leader for one of the surviving groups. As his group travels to find not only answers and a safe place to live, they pick up stragglers who want to survive as well. They are faced with adversity that comes not only from the zombies but from within their own group and other survival groups as well. With each new safe haven, their relationships for one another develop even deeper as they become more resourceful in their fight against the various evil that comes against them as well as their basic needs.
