Summary: " Halfway between the areas of Heber and Park City, Utah, hundreds of feet below what is now the waters of Jordanelle Reservoir, once lie the little berg of Keetley. Known then as a humble community of hardworking families, for a young boy with the freedom to roam, that small stretch of prairie grassland was more than home, it was paradise. His name was Jay Thompson, son of a miner carving out a living for his loved ones alongside many other stalwart men at the height of Park City’s mining period. The stories within these pages, as told in Jay’s words, collected through emails and online exchanges, are dedicated to his memory, the adoration he held for the Heber Valley, its inhabitants, and landmarks. Fondly presented now by friend and lifelong Heber Valley and Charleston resident Peg Sabey, Journeys With Jay: Country Road Stories of a Keetley Childhood is a tender trip down memory lane through Jay’s recollections of his early Keetley days, the impact of those endearing moments in his later life, and a tribute to simpler times."
